Joshua: Servant Turned Statesman

Joshua: Servant Turned Statesman | From Preparation to Purpose

What does your spiritual CV look like? And could the season that feels like waiting actually be preparing you for your greatest assignment?

In this podcast episode, we unpack Pastor Malcolm Macqueen's sermon, “Joshua: Servant Turned Statesman”, delivered at KCC AoG Church, Old Town, Swindon on Sunday 2 August 2026. Drawing primarily from Joshua 1:1–9, we explore how God prepared Joshua over many years before calling him to lead Israel into the Promised Land.

Joshua's journey took him from soldier to spy, servant to Spirit-filled successor. Each season taught him something essential: victory comes through prayer, faith sees beyond the giants, humility prepares us for leadership and God's work requires the power of the Holy Spirit.

We also explore God's powerful charge to Joshua: be strong, remain faithful to the Word and remember that you never walk alone. Joshua waited decades for his moment of leadership, reminding us that God's preparation isn't wasted time. Your present season may be developing the character, faith and spiritual strength you'll need for what comes next.

Whether you're facing intimidating circumstances, waiting for direction or wondering whether your opportunity has passed, Joshua's story offers a timely encouragement: God hasn't finished with you yet. Your greatest season of purpose may still be ahead.
